The second set of playoff rankings have just been unveiled and both the Cougars and the Huskies find themselves in the top 25.
WSU stays at 8 in the College Football Playoff rankings after a terrible turnout in Pullman against Cal. Cal, who beat WSU soundly in Berkley a year ago, continued to cause the Cougars problems. WSU was strongly favored to win. But it would be a late 4th quarter drive that would secure the victory for Washington State.
The Huskies came in full force building a comfortable 21 – 0 lead against Stanford in the first half. But it didn’t last long as the Huskies found themselves holding on for a win as Stanford clawed back to 17 – 24 with 9 minutes left in the 4th. The Huskies would be held to a field goal with 5:09 left in the game. Stanford would go on to score another touchdown, but it would not be enough as UW would finish 27 – 23. Huskies enter their bye week at 25 and the AP poll at 20.
