Rookie running back Rashaad Penny accomplished his first milestones against the Los Angeles Rams. Not only did he run for over 100 yards, he also scored his first touchdown in the NFL. Penny averaged 9 yards a carry.
Penny (San Diego State) was drafted in the first round (no. 27) by the Seahawks and ranked 7th on the list of running backs and 70th overall. Penny’s ability to make an immediate impact on the special teams and passing game made him an enticing prospect.
Penny has been competing with Mike Davis and Chris Carson for touches, with 12 being the most he’s had in a single game. But if Carson continues to be inactive, expect Penny to take a larger role in the running game.
